9 Things You Must Remember While Writing Notes

"Notes" are literally said to be the biggest ‘weapon’ of a student irrespective of any class or age. Every year we have been tackling exams with sincere help from our notes. Be it ours, be it others. Today, we discuss some important points to keep in mind while taking.
Before starting with the points, the primary step is to make up your mind to start taking notes. Once done, we start with the steps to follow -
• Primary Requirements - Note making is all about following the 5R’s. To elaborate - Record, reduce, recite, reflect, and review.
• Remembering key points - Make notes which are clear and accurate. People tend to forget key points, so make it accurate.
• Starting a fresh - It's better to start each new lecture on a new page, dating and numbering each page.
• Making it brief - Follow "Reduce" and try to make your notes as brief as possible.
• Making it "Spacy" - To make it easy to understand, leave blank spaces and write on one side of the page.
• Using abbreviations and symbols - Develop a system of abbreviations and symbols to make it quick while writing down, which can be useful later.
• Paying heed to the professor - Pay good heed to what the Professor/teacher says. Develop a good listening ear. It really helps even in the future.
• Asking what you need - It is never a shame to ask for "pardon". If you don't follow, just "ask" to replace it. It is for your own benefit and you must not hesitate.
• Keeping it organized - We need to keep a separate copy for everything. If your notes are written without any organization, it's of no use. No need to keep it "spit" and "span" but at least make separate copies, make it organized.
Writer’s Advice –
That was quite a read coming down till here. If you are still reading this, it means you have gone through all the points. A heartfelt thanks for that.
The above given 9 points seem quite a task when read one by one. But if you are down here, it means you are quite determined to make notes. That’s an awesome start. Believe us, but no, first believe yourself. Remember what you read, before starting with the points. “Make up your mind” – once made, nothing seems too late after that. Always remember that you start taking notes, for your benefit, for your good. You might get mocked and criticized at some stage, but never lose yourself. Believe in the greater good always. Remember the points, remember the 5R’s and that will be all. After reading this, whenever you enter the class, be a changed person; leave behind your older self and start afresh. It has to work something good for you in the future.
ALL THE BEST!
